Re: Tinubu’s Government: Where Is Nigeria’s Soul, Moral Compass? By Olu Fasan

“Every great nation is built on a strong moral foundation. No nation succeeds without, as Plato put it, a “healthy soul”, where reason, passion and will drive leaders and citizens to defend their nation’s best interests. Equally, no nation succeeds without a moral compass, without a robust sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. But Nigeria is a nation where might is right, where the powerful can get away with anything. Nothing has exposed the national soullessness and moral-vacuum more than the emergence of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s president and the indecorous manner in which he formed a “government”. […]

Hard question: who are the conscience of the nation, the custodians of its moral values? Hardly any! Even most religious leaders ally themselves with power, however acquired. Yet, Nigeria can’t succeed without a soul and a moral compass!”

Dear Olu Fasan,

To answer the “Hard question” you posed in the quote above is going to be a very difficult task. There is no doubt most people will accept that it is like searching for a needle in a haystack to be able to find a good number of persons with conscience and high moral values in Nigeria.

But notwithstanding the rarity of honourable persons of integrity with living soul in Nigeria, I will like to count you as one of the few awakened Nigerians, “who are the conscience of the nation, the custodians of its [Nigeria’s] moral values”. At this depressing time of great moral decadence and insurmountable ethical challenges in the country, you will forever be remembered for standing ruggedly tall, straight, unshaken and unmoved by the slurs and accusations of ethnic betrayal coming from the immoral Lilliputians of Nigeria.

With everything that is morally odious, and spectacularly indecent, which Fellow Nigerians and the rest of the world have come to know about the ethically-challenged current ‘President’ of Nigeria, every spirit of truth-filled Nigerian by now should be greatly saddened with the grief of association. And to see the calibre of lowlife people who are at the helm of national affairs of Nigeria, the overwhelming embarrassment, dismay, disillusionment and frustration have led some of us to the point of mentally wearing a mourning sackcloth for the suffering people of Nigeria. And in this depressing state, we are forced to psychologically carry a blazing tattoo on our foreheads with the word SHAME.

It is not farfetched and quite understandable for the awakened ones amongst us to declare that any Nigerian who still feels comfortable instead of disgust and who still feels proud instead of shame about the deplorable moral degeneracy and the extreme state of soullessness in the fatherland that such a person needs to accept he/she belongs to the category of the subhuman mankind called the SOULLESS BEINGS — [the Zombies, the Walking Dead, the Breathing Mannequins, the Puppets, the Empty Shells, the Portals, the Sheep, etc.].

Unfortunately, most fellow Nigerians belong to the category of subhuman beings. This is because Nigerians have allowed themselves to be conned into sacrificing their humanity, their dignity and their integrity at the altar of materialism — worldly riches, material wealth and monetary prosperity. The immoral and soulless society is the sordid result gained from the malevolent and conspicuous acts of insatiable corruption perpetrated by the mediocre elites across the board.

The political charlatans who are ruling and ruining the country have therefore covertly weaponised the resultant deprivation of basic needs flowing from the poverty-producing policies of the government. And through the mindless fiscal policies that deliberately pauperised the people and of the visionless social programmes that are designed to outrightly impoverish the people, the shamelessly corrupt political class has succeeded in enslaving and in holding down the people for easy social control and political manipulation.

It is sad to say, but the fact remains that the political, economic, social and spiritual situations of the indigenous people of Nigeria will continue to deteriorate rather than improve until a good number of Nigerians can wake up from their present imbecilic slumber. It is obvious like day and night that Nigerians are presently under a hypnotic spell induced by imported fake religions and fake educational systems seeded by the neocolonial powers. If it is not so, how can any society endures and sustains for so long, the present nauseating theatre of the absurd on display across the length and breadth of Nigeria?

How can Nigerians allow this ridiculous state of a wretched human existence to be their portion in a blessed world, if they have not all become the Zombies, the Walking Dead, the Breathing Mannequins, the Puppets, the Empty Shells, the Portals, the Sheep, etc. of the world?

The hope of a social and spiritual revolution will lie on the few enlightened people like you and on every other awakened indigenous person in Nigeria who have seen the light of truth. Hence, the solemn admonition to the awakened ones at this depressing moment in the history of Nigeria is that the awakened ones must never relent in their efforts to tell the few listening and attentive Nigerians to wake up.

NIGERIANS WAKE UP!

WAKE UP PEOPLE FROM YOUR STUPID SLUMBER AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF SPIRITUAL REDEMPTION, MENTAL EMANCIPATION AND POLITICAL FREEDOM.

WAKE UP PEOPLE AND SET YOURSELVES FREE FROM INTERNAL COLONISATION; FROM A POLITICAL SYSTEM AND ECONOMIC STRUCTURES DESIGNED FOR SLAVES; FROM THE FOOLISH, IMMORAL AND ETHICALLY-CHALLENGED POLITICIANS WHO ARE STEALING AND ROBBING YOU OF YOUR PATRIMONY.

WAKE UP PEOPLE AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!!!

In The Spirit of Truth
