The pronunciation of the words Pray and Prey sounds identical but their meanings are quite different. Praying is, to worship and to send a wish list of desires and wanted goodies to the creator. While Preying is, like a predator stealthily hunting, killing and dining on other creatures for food and survival.
Homophone in the English language shows there are words that have similar pronunciation but connote different meaning. It is therefore very easy for clever people to cynically use a word in conversation that can hide the true meaning or intention of the speaker. So when the poor people say, they are praying and the rich folks say they are preying, the uninitiated in the subtlety of the English language will assume that both are saying the same thing.
The Preying Rich see opportunities to make a profit in everything and in every place. Like a classic predator, the Preying Rich are forever on the prowl to hunt down and make a killing of careless preys. When the priest says, let us pray, often the Praying Poor close their eyes in prayer. On the other hand, the Preying Rich with eyes wide open, use the time to survey the congregation for the next meal.
In economic relations, preying on the poor is the only way through which the psychopathic group among mankind can make profits and can become fabulously rich. If anyone says otherwise, I humbly submit that such an objector is clearly professing a tactical deception and is definitely being untruthful.
A very rich person must be totally devoid of the milk of human kindness to be able to accumulate wealth without succumbing to guilty feelings. Because it is only under a deficiency in human compassion that anyone can artfully con the poor masses to exchange their last farthings for worthless and useless commodities.
We see this happen every year, particularly, during the so-called festive seasons that were created as bread and carrots in order to condition and manipulate the feelings of the masses of the world. With the onslaught of powerful advertisement from October that is targeted at the children, poor parents are blackmailed to expend their scarce resources for purchasing useless presents/gifts. In most cases, these gifts or presents are neither required nor needed and will never be put to any good use. With the high level of induced guilt piled on the parents, who couldn’t afford to buy expensive presents for their children, these parents are driven into the Shylock’s den to borrow money at exorbitant interest rates.
And on the Christmas/New Year Day, the predator and the prey will gather together at the Worshippers’ Gallery for a thanksgiving prayer. Both will give thanks to the creator of life for a successful and blessed year.
While the poor give thanks for the blessings of good health, of a barely bearable poor quality of life and of the gift of abundance of hope for a better future; the rich give thanks for the carny ‘bloodshed and slaughter’ that were successfully perpetrated on the Praying Poor and which have brought in abundant wealth of gold, silver and lucre into the private coffer.
This is the mystery of the parasitic-symbiotic relationship between wealth and poverty. Wealth creation is a very clever but inhuman strategy of draining the scant resource pool of the poor into the mega treasure pool of the rich. There is no other way to amass great and grandiose wealth. Regardless of the brilliant camouflage, deceptive facade of philanthropy, superficial niceties and hypocritical concerns for social justice put on by the rich to put gloss over their exploitative endeavours, there is no person who gets extremely rich without stealing from the poor.
Either through the ancient institutions of slavery or the modern contractual exchange of labour for wages; both are definitely a constituted arrangement of indentured servitude that clearly steals the labour, sweat, tears and blood of the poor on the cheap. By the psychological power of modern propaganda tool of suggestion by advertisements, the poor are again cleverly brainwashed to part with their meagre resources and wages for unwanted and unneeded commodities. The social and economic designs of graduated taxation, paying outrageous interests on loans and rents and all other clever economic games and swindles played on the poor have deliberately created a revolving cycle of perennial poverty where escape is almost impossible.
This is the sad story of our prim and proper modern civilisation that has created the Praying Poor and the Preying Rich. Henceforth, when next one hears the rich folks sanctimoniously berating the poor that it is indolence that caused their poverty, don’t be fooled. It is the most insincere statement from the mouth of a hardhearted soul and an irredeemable psychopath.
When you hear the preacher man sermonising to the poor on the secret of wealth creation and prosperity breakthrough via the pathway of tithing to the church, please understand that he is also into the cruel game of stealing from the poor as well. Such preachers belong to the psychopathic arm of the religious order (aka men of the cloth). You can surely hide a lot of iniquities under the ‘holy’ garments of the priest.
Dear Praying Poor and the Preying Rich, don’t be mad at this writer that seems to have a desire to spoil a good racket that has been going on for ages. This essay is simply a public service duty to alert the Praying Poor as to the hidden cause of their wretchedness and to plead with the Preying Rich to temper their vaulting ambition for mega wealth with mercy.
The thrust of the essay is to help the prayerful poor to repackage their new year resolutions towards the search for spiritual freedom rather than merely seeking to be rich in material prosperity or to be famous like the richest man in the universe of the stupid Homo sapiens.
Unless the Praying Poor are prepared to literally or actually massacre their neighbours and to steal their meagre properties, there is no other method for making big money in our world. An ambitious person must be one of a hardhearted kind to be able to harbour so much hate feelings and cruel intentions for his/her neighbours to such an insane level that he/she is prepared to make profit out of his neighbours unfortunate misery.
By selling counterfeit and unusable goods at exorbitant prices to a near or distant neighbour cannot definitely be called a loving business deal. By conning one’s neighbours to part with their meagre resources in exchange for worthless virtual Bitcoins, imitation gold, instant money doubling enterprises, etc., is definitely not a benevolent, love-your-neighbour affair. By trading and speculating on bank stocks and currencies that cream off the gains of the hard-working and value-adding productive sectors of the economy, is surely not a love-thy-neighbour engagements.
From the above, one can see that getting fabulously rich is not a game that is played by a fainthearted or kindhearted or compassionate or merciful or loving person. A person who is spiritually awakened knows intuitively that the very idea or plan to seek and possess worldly riches in large amounts can never bring joy or gladness to one’s heart. Why?
It is because an awakened person who has the ability to see beyond the superficiality of human existence, knows that after gaining the whole world, there are often the consequences of inhuman carnages wrecked on the wretched poor. In the course of ruthlessly building up a portfolio of personal mega wealth, a truly compassionate person who hasn’t been totally blinded by greed, can see the throngs of the suffering, hungry, homeless and miserably poor humanity that will be left behind through such selfish actions. Such a conscious person blessed with compassionate feelings for other human beings cannot help but feel the gnawing pain of sadness and emptiness in the soul.
We are hoping that everyone reading this essay would strive to make a realistic and humane resolutions for the new year. Such an enlightened resolve to work towards becoming more humane and more compassionate will go a long way in making a difference to the chaotic state of general insanity caused by unbridled rat race of materialism in our world.
As a result of the contagious global disease of insatiable greed, the spirits of love, freedom, justice, peace and harmony have been driven out of our world. Unfortunately, the empowered spirits of hate, war, ruthless competition instead of benevolent cooperation in all human relations have become the strategic guidelines motivating the policies of governments, business organisations and individual lifestyles. The demonic spirits of materialism have put the people of the world in a dire existential strait of impending political, economic, cultural and spiritual catastrophe. Rumours of imminent global economic and financial collapse; and of global wars of nations against nations, are the singsongs heard everyday from the airwaves and read in the mass media.
We have to hope that in the year 2024, the Praying Poor would fervently desire to seek truth, knowledge and understanding about the callous ways and means by which the Preying Rich are dominating and leading the world astray. And that the Praying Poor would, with greater awareness of the hidden intentions and the known evil deeds of the psychopaths, would strive to protect themselves from being caught in the economic and political traps set for them by the Preying Rich.
Hence from now on and as each of us is awakened into the conscious state as a living member of the Human race, The Praying Poor should resolve to be alert in monitoring (no longer praying with the eyes closed) the clever and wicked ways of the Preying Rich; and will always be on their guard to prevent being caught again and served for dinner on the opulent tables of the Preying Rich.
